Vermont Leathercraft Manufacturers is a family run business that has established itself as the preferred manufacturer and supplier of bespoke leather fashion items in South Africa since 1983.
In 2017, Vermont launched its first branded collection of high-quality genuine ostrich leather bags and fashion accessories, as the ‘third chapter’ of the Vermont brand story. Circle was tasked with the brand development and named the brand ‘Mintaka’, inspired by the third star in the constellation of Orion’s Belt and the ‘power of three’ notion.
Stars, what’s not to love about them? They’re radiant, breathtaking and bold, just like the Mintaka brand and its products. Leather is nature’s most aesthetically-pleasing gift. Mintaka products are sustainably sourced, ensuring no animals are harmed or mistreated.
Further inspired by the simple, yet strong shape and elegant design of the star, Circle crafted a striking and distinctive brand identity. As a direct reflection of Mintaka’s brand essence, the brandmark was designed to be stylish, timeless and practical. The brandmark was required to work across a wide variety of branding applications including bags, tags and as a jewel.
