As part of the refurbishment of the Valley of Waves within the Sun City Resort, there was a need to reenergise an underutilised space within the popular waterpark. Circle was tasked with the brand development of a restaurant offering.
To pay homage to the monkeys who form part of the Sun City environment, Circle created The Brew Monkey, inspired by the notion of Monkey See, Monkey Take, Monkey Do Differently.
The Brew Monkey resembles a rustic microbrewery. In keeping with the gastro pub industry trend of communicating with customers in a clever and quirky way, the brand identity and brandmark are inspired by the Barrel of Monkeys, which is tongue in cheek. The vervet monkey in the brandmark represents playfulness and is symbolic of the way monkeys behave.
