Dr Robert Daniel owns and runs Sandton Eye Clinic. He is a specialist ophthalmologist with over 15 years of experience who specialises in anterior segment surgery. He also has training in human physiology and neuroscience, enabling him to diagnose and treat both physical and neurological conditions affecting the eye.
Dr Robert Daniel’s interest in eye health and preserving this vital sense has also expanded into the world of invention. Such as SleepSpec, amber-tinted glasses which helps promote the production of the sleep hormone melatonin along with Vitasight, a range of vision supplements which slow the progress of age-related macular degeneration.
Circle’s challenge was to rebrand Sandton Eye Clinic and create a visual language which challenged the typical eye care vernacular while still being easily recognisable as a specialist eye health offering. Dr Robert Daniel’s entrepreneurial spirit and sense of problem-solving inspired the dynamic icon which forms the central theme of this rebrand. A series of circular maze puzzles encourages the viewer to solve them, supporting the essence of why patients visit the clinic. They are also iconic of the eye, in form and texture.
The colour blue was chosen and used because it’s deemed an intellectual colour which evokes a sense of calm, security and concentration which represents Dr Robert Daniel’s scientific and problem-solving approach to eye care. The rebrand has enabled Sandton Eye Clinic to be distinctively differentiated and easily identifiable from other specialist eye care and ophthalmic offerings.
