Circle had the privilege of partnering with South African celebrity chef, Siba Mtongana to brand and launch the permanent 5-star, Siba The Restaurant at The Table Bay in Cape Town.
Positioning the restaurant as “A culinary icon of the Cape” encapsulates the essence and unique value proposition of Siba The Restaurant, establishing the restaurant as a symbol of culinary excellence, innovation and cultural authenticity. The restaurant’s visual identity represents the ambience and core purpose of the restaurant by making use of dynamic rings which signify dishes being served, social interactions and invigorating energy. The patterns within the visual identity are formed by the colourful rings which are reminiscent of natural vibrations. These dynamic rings were used in a social media campaign to launch Siba The Restaurant, where the rings substituted any “O” within announcement posts where we communicated messages such as “Coming soon”, “Soon open”, “Now open”, “So Open” and “Book now”.
The colour palette was inspired by natural vibrations to evoke a sense of vibrancy, energy and connection, underpinned by a feminine undertone. The chosen colours included pink which represents femininity, grace and elegance. The yellow is associated with warmth, happiness and positivity. It can create a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere. Shades of green embody nature, freshness and vitality, visually representing the restaurant’s commitment to offering wholesome and authentic culinary experiences. The use of blue conveys a sense of calm and relaxation, creating a serene and inviting ambiance. Orange showcases creativity, innovation and adventure. Reflecting the restaurant’s culinary approach of creating unique dishes, that push the boundaries of traditional Cape cuisine.
This dynamic and vibrant identity is synonymous with sharing, connecting and enticing a sense of curiosity which will continue to welcome patrons to Siba’s iconic restaurant.
