For Sun International, winter has traditionally meant one thing: lower occupancy. But with travel patterns shifting and families seeking more value-driven escapes, the season held untapped potential. Their response? SunScapes, a seasonal campaign built around an irresistible offer: kids under 18 stay free.
Circle was briefed to revitalise the SunScapes identity in line with Sun International’s new monolithic brand architecture, unifying its presence across flagship properties while preserving campaign differentiation.
At the centre of our creative strategy was the insight that winter holidays are driven less by weather, and more by a longing for connection, relaxation and warmth: emotional drivers that transcend season.
We developed the positioning line “Feel the warmth.” More than a slogan, it became a strategic anchor guiding tone, imagery, messaging and overall mood. It transformed the campaign from a tactical offer into an emotive call to action, celebrating the idea of sunshine, family bonding.
With four key resorts Sun City, Wild Coast Sun, The Boardwalk, and The Table Bay running the campaign concurrently, consistency was essential, but not at the expense of individuality.
We created a modular visual identity with campaign-specific colour palettes and adaptable layouts. Each resort’s unique personality and aesthetic, from beachy coastal to lush inland, was celebrated through property-specific patterns, textures and image treatments, ensuring every touchpoint felt authentic to place but still unmistakably part of SunScapes.
This approach allowed each destination to own the campaign while reinforcing the collective promise of family value and unforgettable winter escapes.
The refreshed SunScapes campaign delivered a cohesive message with emotive resonance. It demonstrated that seasonal promotions don’t need to feel temporary or generic, they can be an opportunity to express brand warmth, build connection, and convert intent into bookings.
