With over 17 years of experience helping businesses embrace transformation, Opennetworks engaged Circle to lead the charge, from naming through to brand implementation.

Strategic Naming: Removing the Space, Making a Statement

Formerly known as Open Networks, the name was seamlessly evolved into Opennetworks, one word, one destination, mirroring the format of a web address. This subtle but impactful shift aligned with the brand’s digital-first ethos and reflected a confident, modern presence in the cloud ecosystem.

Designing the Future: Brand Identity & Visual Language

To establish a cohesive and flexible identity, Circle leaned into Opennetworks’ close relationship with Google. The brandmark drew inspiration from Google’s iconic primary colour palette, creating immediate recognition while maintaining unique brand equity.

A powerful naming and messaging device was created using the word “On,” derived from the initials of the new brand name. This unlocked a suite of compelling brand expressions: Always On, On Point, On Cloud, On Track, each embodying the brand’s readiness, reliability and progressive mindset.

Transforming Hesitation into Innovation: The BMW i8 Activation

A critical brand challenge was addressing the inertia some businesses experience when considering a move to the cloud. To reframe this mindset, Opennetworks introduced a bold metaphor for transformation: the BMW i8, a cutting-edge hybrid sports car that outperforms traditional supercars while using less fuel.

Circle translated this analogy into a powerful brand campaign. The i8 was wrapped in the new Opennetworks brand language and deployed as a physical representation of cloud transformation in action. Just as the i8 redefined performance through innovation, Opennetworks empowered businesses to rethink what’s possible with cloud technology.
